I am proud of talk about this great bassoonist and person Steve Harriswangler, Principal Bassoon on the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia in Spain since 1991. He studied in Juilliard, New York City with Stephen Maxim. He has reached where nobody did before in Bassoon. High pitches that is sharing with all of us. I have played with him in Galicia and I have tosay that he a great person, always helping you if required, and playing with a very nice energy.

hen, of course, you have to know where to scrape or adjust etc. But the most important thing is that you have a methodical approach so that you have an overview while paying attention to what you are doing, thereby learning from your mistakes and developing your knowledge and your skills in order to have the reeds the way you want them.
These are the Bassoon parts: Reed, bocal or crook, tenor joint, boot joint (or double joint, bass joint (or long joint) and bell jont. See the picture:
